Chōjū-jinbutsu-giga

In this ink handscroll, rabbits, frogs, and monkeys wrestle, swim, and frolic like humans. Its witty anthropomorphism has earned it the nickname 'a distant ancestor of manga,' and it is traditionally attributed to Toba Sōjō.
