Curator’s note
Hearing
Part of the Five Senses series in the Prado, personifying Hearing through a sumptuous interior full of musical instruments. The series is a celebrated collaboration in which Jan Brueghel the Elder painted the detailed setting and still life while Rubens added the figures.
