The Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Nicolaes Tulp
Members of the surgeons' guild watch Dr. Tulp demonstrate a dissection. An early masterpiece Rembrandt painted at twenty-six, it draws the figures' gazes and the light to the dissected forearm.
