The Feast of Acheloüs

A mythological feast by Rubens, who depicted nature and figures with sumptuous abundance. The river god Acheloüs entertains the hero Theseus and his companions in a grotto laden with rich still life, the teeming scene overflowing with Baroque fullness and vitality.
